Privacy notice
Last updated 8 October 2026.
What Is My IP Here operates whatismyiphere.com. An IP lookup has to reveal your address to the service that reads it. This notice says who that is, and what this site itself keeps.
What this site keeps
We do not have accounts, and we do not write your address into a database or into local storage. The result lives in the page until you leave or press Check again. Copying it uses your device's clipboard and does not send us a copy.
Lookup services
When the page loads, your browser calls:
- api.ipify.org for the IPv4 address
- api64.ipify.org for an IPv6 address when your network uses one
- get.geojs.io for the ISP name, network number, and location estimate
- ipwho.is only if GeoJS does not answer
Those providers see your IP address, because that is the thing being looked up, along with basic connection data such as the time of the request. Their own privacy policies govern what they store. We receive only the answer they send back to your browser, and we do not forward that answer to a server of our own.
Details that never leave the browser
Language, timezone, screen size, and the user-agent string are read from the browser and shown on the page. They are not uploaded by this site. We do not request GPS or device location permission.
Email and hosting logs
If you email us, we use the message to reply and do not add you to a marketing list. The company hosting the website will log ordinary visits, including the IP address of people who open the pages. That is separate from the on-page lookup, and it follows the host's retention rules.
Advertising
Google AdSense or a similar network may be added later. Google may then set cookies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on visits to this and other sites. Manage that at adssettings.google.com. Google's description is at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. If you have visitors in the UK or the EEA, use a certified consent message before personalised ad cookies run. This template does not include one.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold. For a normal visit that is often only a hosting log, plus an email if you wrote to us. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to correction, deletion, objection, and a complaint to a regulator. Email hello@whatismyiphere.com.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information beyond a normal page request.
Changes
If we change lookup providers or start storing results, this page will be updated and the date will change.
